Bracket Rollover
Bracket Rollover
When brackets don't fill perfectly (e.g., 7 entries in an 8-person bracket), the leftover entry would normally be refunded. Bracket Rollover intelligently moves those entries to compatible brackets that have available spots, minimizing refunds.
How Rollover Works
- After brackets are run, the system identifies brackets that didn't fill completely.
- Leftover entries are matched to other brackets with open spots.
- The entry is moved to the compatible bracket, filling the gap.
- Refunds are only issued when no compatible bracket is available.
Rollover Modes
- Auto: Rollover happens automatically when brackets are run. No manual intervention needed.
- Review: The system proposes rollover moves, and you approve or reject each one before it takes effect.
Rollover Groups
Define which brackets can share entries. For example, you might group all "Senior" brackets together so Senior entries only roll into other Senior brackets, not into Open brackets.
Cross-Age-Group Rollover
If enabled, entries can roll over between age groups when no same-group bracket has space. This maximizes bracket fill rates across the entire tournament.
Enabling Rollover
In tournament setup, toggle Enable Bracket Rollover and choose your mode (Auto or Review). Configure rollover groups if you have multiple bracket categories.
Pro Tip
Use Auto mode for tournaments where all brackets are equivalent. Use Review mode when you have age-group-specific brackets and want to control which entries cross over.
